Charley Orlando has been writing songs for over 25 years and touring North America for 18. In 2007 Charley released 3 Albums; (2 Solo projects and One with his band project Ruha), two of which “Charley Orlando” & “The Dust That Lands”, have been added to the 50th Annual GRAMMY entry ballot in 6 categories each. In 2005 Charley’s debut solo release “Beauty & Pain” was added to the 48th Annual GRAMMY entry ballot in 4 categories. In his career Charley has released 12 albums, played nearly 3,000 shows in 45 states in the USA, Mexico and Canada, and has shared the stage with the likes of Peter Rowan (Old And In The Way), Jorma Kaukonen (Hot Tuna and Jefferson Airplane), David Lindley (Jackson Browne), John Dawson and David Nelson (New Riders Of The Purple Sage), Martin Fierro (Legion Of Mary and the Grateful Dead), Dave Mason & Jim Capaldi (Traffic), moe., Leftover Salmon, Tony Trischka, Michael Glabicki (Rusted Root), Jerry Joseph, Spin Doctor’s, Kid Rock and even 70’s and 80’s rockers Meatloaf and Quiet Riot; not to mention such prominent music festivals as the classic High Sierra in California to the up and coming 10,000 Lakes in Minnesota. Charley Orlando Band started 2009 with a fresh lineup and sound. Since then COB has released it's critically acclaimed debut "Free World Citizen" which was added to the 52nd GRAMMY entry ballot in 5 categories (best new band: charley orlando band, song of the year: naked to the world, best rock song: world citizen, best rock album; free world citizen, record of the year: free world citizen) COB in it's first 6 months has already toured the Northeast, Mid West, and Rocky Mtn. region and played such festivals as Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe,IL (w/ moe., Willie Nelson, Gomez, Les Claypool, and many more!) and Sterling Stage Festival; Sterling,NY (w/ Ryan Montebleau, Zach Deputy, and many more!). Riding on the success of their release COB is truly an act to be caught live. This is where all of there influences come to the surface and a mix of Rock, Roots, Americana, Folk, Groove, Funk, Jam, and flat out original music are explored and released in an honest and emotive way that keeps the crowd captivated. With the addition of Hammond Organ player Brian Lauri and new drummer Greg LaPoint, Max Mckee on Bass and Charley Orlando on Guitar and vocals COB heads has changed the name of the band to R U H A ...
